It's Terrific! Kurt Schwitters (1887-1948) gave this title to a collage of paper snippets, letters of the alphabet and motifs from ads, created by the artist in 1944 during British exile. This fascinating addition to the Würth Collection provides the sound, structure and title of the oppulent exhibition at Museum Würth 2.

From Liebermann to Basquiat, familiar highlights from the Collection, to the most recent acquisitions from artists such as Ackermann, Balkenhol, Beckmann, Matta, Munch, Kiefer and Kupka, this exhibition creates a new dialogue in the collection of over 20,000 works. TERRIFIC blends the past with the present, and creates a fresh perspective on what we already know.

Extensive and multi-layered, the exhibition provides fascinating insights into the unique collage of the Würth Collection. Not chronologically, but alternating between artists, themes and time periods, it aims to inspire with often surprising compilations.

“... the greatest experience so far”

Anselm Kiefer’s Study Trips in 1963 and 1966

Illustrated reports and diaries from Anselm Kiefer’s two international study trips in the 1960s are presented for the first time to this extent in a multimedia special show in the Cabinet of Museum Würth 2. Loans from the zis Foundation for Study Trips, which granted him a stipend, point to thematic research into art, architecture and haute couture in Paris. They also illuminate surprising perspectives and facets of the young artist’s personality and process of finding himself.
