The Museum for Screws and Threads, which is right next to Museum Würth, is the only one of its kind in Europe. It is dedicated to a key element in the development of humankind: the screw and its many forms of application. In different application sections, the many aspects from the world of screws and bolts are presented, such as agriculture, industrialization, propellers and propelling screws, screw shapes occurring in nature, the use of screws in language and architecture, the invention of the screw and thread in Ancient Greece and the Middle Ages trying to do without any screws at all.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG in 2015, wegave the Museum for Screws and Threads a facelift. The exhibition is wheelchair accessible and also invites children and adolescents to get a first look at the subject of screws. Screens with short film clips, interactive exhibits and an ORSY workshop trolley used for museum education purposes allow for an exciting time at the museum.
A visit to the Museum of Screws and Threads can change our perspective of our environment, where plenty of spirals and twisted and threaded forms can be discovered everywhere.
